Michael Keller, BS, NRP
Owner / Senior Faculty  

Michael brings more than 38 years of experience in prehospital medicine to the teaching arena.  He was lead Curriculum Faculty for Gaston College Department for EMS Education, a CoAEMSP accredited program, for 15 years and retired in 2020. He has accumulated over 38 years of clinical experience, with over 35 of those years at the paramedic level. His comprehensive background of experience includes a decade of urban and suburban EMS in a large metropolitan area, as well as environments in rural EMS response. Michael has worked in critical care transport arenas with five years in senior leadership for a flagship Level I Trauma Center critical care transport team.  During this time, he was a vital contributor to the development of critical care transport standards being adopted nationally, as well as the development of a state-wide critical care education curriculum. 

Michael also has experience working in industrial EMS, which included his work as a responder and managing paramedic on specialized medical teams during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster in 2010.  Additionally, Michael is trained in disaster medical response and leadership.  He was a member and Training Officer for a large multi-disciplinary disaster medical response team for more than five years. 

Michael’s accomplishments include participation in the development of a state-wide education curriculum for the training of disaster medical responders.  He continues to work clinically today as a Paramedic III in a suburban EMS system with advanced protocols and aggressive patient management practices. He has also served as a Subject Matter Expert on various legal cases with firms such as FisherBroyles, LLC, The Cochran Firm, and Carlock, Copeland & Stair, LLP.     

Michael is married, has one son, two stepsons, and five grandchildren.

Amy Keller, AAS
Administrative Coordinator

Amy has over 31 years of experience in administrative management of multifunctional educational departments.  She spent almost 20 years of her career working at Gaston College in healthcare education as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean.  She later accepted the position of Coordinator of Educational Partnerships where she worked with the Huskins, Dual Enrollment and Learn and Earn Online Programs that became the Career and College Promise (CCP) Program.  This program enabled high school students to obtain college credit while still in high school and afforded the opportunity for countless students to get a jump start on college.  She also worked on various committees. 

 

Among Amy’s many accomplishments, she served as Staff Personnel Association President for two years, Staff Senate President for two years, and was a finalist for the Altrusa Award.  She was the recipient of the Staff Senate Employee of the Year Award.  She retired in January 2020 to focus on building partnerships for Camden Education Unlimited, LLC.

 

Amy is married, has two sons, one stepson, and five grandchildren.
